About Me

I'm EMILIA, I grew up in Gemany but I live in Scotland since last year. I am studying BA Applied Music at the University of the Highlands and Islands and currently I am based in Uist in the Outer Hebrides.

I grew up on the Island of Föhr in Northern Germany and began a new chapter of my life in Scotland. From an early age on I started playing piano and later I picked up the fiddle. I'm playing many different music genres, but my preferred genre, especially for the fiddle, is folk. Since March 2017 I play in the folkBALTICA Ensemble where we play mostly on Festivals, including the biggest folk festival in Europe, Tonder Festival in Denmark. Since studying with the University of the Highlands and Islands I have been fortunate to gather more performance experience in Scotland, including Celtic Connections in Glasgow.

I recently started teaching and have a great passion to share my knowledge of fiddle as well as piano playing. I have a lot of experience working with kids over the past couple of years and love to connect the younger generations with their traditions. Get in touch if you are interested!
